Didier appointed Guinea national coach

Guinea have appointed French coach Didier Six on a three-year deal with a view to qualification for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The nation were knocked out of the recent African Cup of Nations by eventual champions Algeria, but a decision was made to sack their Belgian coach Paul Put.

Six, 65, has twice before coached the national team of African nations with recent spells at Togo and Mauritius.

As a player Six played 53 times for France and was in the 1984 side that swept to European Championships triumph.
