Chairman of a faction of Jatiya Party (JP) GM Quader on Wednesday said the party will hold its national council to form new central committee on December 21 instead of November 30.

“The party’s national council will be held on December 21. Some people said that the JP will not exist in absence of Ershad. But the party still exists and it didn’t split yet. The party will be stronger in the next,” he said.

The JP chief made the statement while speaking at a organizing meeting of council preparatory committee of Jatiya Chhatra Samaj, student wing of the opposition party, at the seminar room of Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh in the capital.

Claiming that ‘political vacuum’ has been created in the country during the current Awami League regime, he said during this political vacuum, the JP will be more stronger and play important role through giving programme to fulfill expectation of country’s general people.

GM Quader also said council session of Chhatra Samaj will have to be held within October this year and the committee of the organisation will be formed through election process.

Speaking at the programme, JP secretary general Moshiur Rahman Ranga said the party will go to the power in the next and its chairman GM Quader will be made Prime Minister of the country during the time.

Earlier, addressing a press conference on September 7, GM Quader announced that Jatiya Party would hold party’s national council on November 30.
