‘Proper training a must to ensure quality tertiary education’

University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh Member Professor Dr Md Akhtar Hossain on Thursday said that proper training is needed for ensuring quality education at tertiary level in the country.

“There is a scarcity of quality education at our educational institutions. Effective training programme is urgently needed to get rid of this situation,” he said.

Professor Dr Md Akhtar Hossain was speaking as chief guest at a foundation training programme for the entry level officials of 20 public universities at UGC Bhaban in the capital’s Agargaon area.

Graduate Training Institute (GTI) of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) is organising the month-long training programme. UGC provides the financial assistance for the training to develop their professional skills.
