Shirin moderates session on climate change

Bangladesh Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury on Monday moderated a session styled ‘Catalyzing the global agenda on climate change – overcoming challenges and utilizing opportunities to strengthen the regional agenda for delivering on the Paris Agreement’ at the 4th South Asian Speakers’ Summit in Maldives.

Maldives parliament’s environment and climate change committee president Ahmed Saleem, Nepal’s atmosphere international centre for integrated mountain development regional manager Arnico Kumar Pandey and UNDP’s inclusive political process team leader Charles Chauvel took part in the discussion as panel discussants.

They discussed the successful implementation of the Paris agreement in the region.

Besides, the session also held discussion on strengthening parliaments, addressing the climate change, air pollution and ecosystem. ­
