A five-day long (from August 25-29) book exhibition and reading competition titled ‘Bangabandhu Bishayok Pustok Prodorshoni O Path’ will begin from today at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.
Sponsored by Cultural Affairs Ministry and association with Academic and Creative Publishers Association of Bangladesh, National Book Centre is organising the programme to mark the National Mourning Day.Students of five prominent educational institutions will participate on the reading competition on Bangabandhur Osomapto Attojiboni, the autobiography by Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, founding father of Bangladesh.
The inaugural ceremony of the event will be held at National Art Plaza of the academy at 10:00am today.
Presided over by National Book Centre’s Director Minar Monsur, Cultural Affairs Ministry Secretary Dr. Md. Abu Hena Mostofa Kamal, NDC, will attend the programme as chief guest.
Academic and Creative Publishers Association of Bangladesh’s senior vice president Milan Kanti Nath, Bangladesh Publishers and Book-sellers Association’s vice president Shamol Paul will also present on the occasion as special guests.
National Book Centre’s Deputy Director Shuhita Sultana will deliver welcome speech on the occasion.
This was disclosed at a view exchange meeting held at the seminar room of National Book Centre in the capital Gulisthan area on Saturday at 12:00pm.National Book Centre’s Director Minar Monsur, its Deputy Director Shuhita Sultana, Bangladesh Publishers and Book-sellers Association’s Vice President Shamol Paul, Somoy Prakashan’s owner Farid Ahmed among others were present at the meeting.
