Agriculture Minister Dr Abdur Razzaque on Thursday said that the ruling government’s main challenge is commercialisation of agriculture.

“Income of farmers will be increased from agriculture to fulfill their need,” said the minister adding that ensure safe and nutritional food for the people is also our target.

If we can increase the income of farmers then they can afford nutritional food for their families, said the minister while addressing the view-exchange meeting with journalists at the conference room of Agriculture Information Service (AIS) at Khamarbari in the capital on Thursday.

We are now self-sufficient in rice, potato and some other products but the main problem is marketing of agricultural product, he said, adding that the government is working to develop villages.

He also said the government will distribute coffee and cashew nut gradually across the country as it has huge financial benefit.
