One lakh hector land under T-Aman cultivation in Jamalpur

JAMALPUR: Farmers in the district began T- Aman (Transplanted Aman) cultivation in full swing as the agriculture department has a target to bring over one lakh hectors under the cultivation during this season, reports BSS.

According to the Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE), farmers so far cultivated T-Aman on 63,370 hectares of land.

DAE has fixed the target of producing 2,63,792 metric tons of rice in seven upazilas of the district this year from 1,02,963 hectares of land.

According to the agriculture officials T-Aman seedling has been made available for farmers. Farmer prepared T-Aman seedbed on 5,857 hectares of land, which include seedbed of High Breed variety on 868 hectares, HYV variety on 3005 hectares and local variety on 1984 hectares.
