Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the third Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner ‘Gangchil’ today.
After the inauguration, the Boeing aircraft will make its maiden flight for Dubai, said a press release of the national flag carrier Biman Bangladesh Airlines.The prime minister will inaugurate the brand new aircraft at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 11:00am, it added.
The Dreamliner, which has 271 seats — 24 business class and 247 economy class — was added to the Biman’s fleet on July 25.
In 2008, Biman Bangladesh Airlines signed a deal to purchase 10 aircraft from US aircraft manufacturer Boeing.
Of these, Biman has already received four new Boeing 777-300ERs, two 737-800s, and three 787-8s Dreamliner.
