Young archers shine in qualifiers

Bangladesh National Youth Archery Team fared relatively well in the qualification round of World Archery Youth Championship at Madrid in Spain on Tuesday.

In the recurve junior boys’ event, Md Sakib Mollah clinched 24th spot while Mohammad Tamimul Islam came 35th and Mohammad Hakim Ahmed Rubel earned the 44th spot.

In recurve junior girls event, Mehnaz Akhtar Monira came 52nd of the 73 archers.

Bangladesh recurve boys’ team event Bangladesh bagged the 9th spot of the 28 participant teams. In the mixed recurve team event Bangladesh earned the 23rd spot in the qualifying round.

Bangladesh team will take part in recurve junior singles and team, recurve cadet boy’s single, recurve cadet girl’s single and mixed and compound junior boy’s single events. The inaugural ceremony of the championship held on August 19. Qualification round commenced on August 20.
