The Hindu community will observe the holy Janmashtami, one of their major religious festivals, on Friday.

Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad and Mahanagar Sarbajanin Puja Committee jointly held a views-exchange meeting with a group of journalists in this regard at Dhakeshwari National Temple in the capital on Tuesday.

A written statement was read out, which said they will take out a Janmashtami procession at 3:00 pm.

The procession will begin from the Dhakeshwari National Temple at Palashi and end at Bahadur Shah Park in Laxmibazar after parading Jagannath Hall, Central Shaheed Minar, Dowel Chattar, High Court area, Police Headquarters, DSCC Bhaban, Gulistan Crossing, Nawabpur Road and Raishaheb Bazar.

The two associations have asked the Hindu community at upazila level to end the morning processions by 12:00 noon and the afternoon procession before the evening.

They have also advised all the community to keep in touch with the local administrations and law enforcers during the observance of the Janmashtami.
