Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) mayor Sayeed Khokon on Tuesday said new pesticide is working well in repelling Aedes mosquitoes and larvae. “New pesticide to control mosquitoes is working very nice,” he said.
The mayor made the announcement while launching an operation to destroy breeding grounds of Aedes mosquito and cleanliness drive at Dhaka Medical College Hospital in the capital.
Dhaka South City Corporation and Nogor Unnayan Sangbadik Forum (NUSF) arranged the cleanliness programme, marking World Mosquito Day.
Sayeed Khokon said, “The number of dengue patients is showing downward recently according to director general of health services and hospital reports. We in association with general people and government agencies have set target to control dengue by first week of September.”
