National Mourning Day observed in London

The National Mourning Day was observed in Bangladesh High Commission in London on Thursday, marking the 44th anniversary of martyrdom of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, reports BSS.

Marking the day, Bangladesh High Commissioner to the UK Saida Muna Tasneem distributed foods among elderly and homeless people at ‘Sonali Garden Centre and Day Care Centre’ in London, said a press release.

The Mourning Day’s other programmes included hoisting of national flag at half-mast at the High Commission, reading out of messages, placing wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu, and doa mahfil and discussion at Brady Arts and Community Centre in East London.
