CHATTOGRAM: Inter Services Public Relation Directorate (ISPR) Director Lieutenant Colonel Abdullah Ibn Jaid called upon journalists to publish authentic news regarding the armed forces to avoid confusion.
He said this while addressing at a view exchange meeting with journalists at Chattogram Press Club on Sunday.Addressing the meeting, the ISPR director said both the armed forces and journalists are working for welfare of the country.
“As people believe the news of media, you (journalists) will have to consider welfare of the country during releasing any news item,” he said.
“We always try to provide authentic news and sometimes it takes time to be confirmed. We will also try to provide news as early as possible,” said the director.
Process for launching bureau offices outside the Dhaka is at the final stage, he informed adding that the office in Chattogram will help communicate with media easily.
Bangladesh Army 24 Infantry Division Major Abu Said Golam Mawla, ISPR Assistant Director Noor Islam and Tapashi Rabeya, Chattogram Press Club President Ali Abbas, Vice President Salauddin Reza, General Secretary Chowdhury Farid, Chattogram Union of Journalists General Secretary Hassan Ferdous, TV Journalist Association President Nasir Uddin Tota, Senior Journalists Samir Barua, Shamsul Hoque Haidari, Hasan Akber, Nirupam Dasgupta, Shimul Nazrul and Sarwar Suman addressed the meeting among others.
