Four Biman officials jailed in graft case

A court here on Monday sentenced four officials of Bangladesh Biman Airline to different terms jail in an embezzlement cases of Tk 28.58 lakhs, reports UNB.

The convicts are airline salary section former manager Mohammad Jinnah, former accountant Harun-or-Rashid, cash and banking section assistant manager MA Rob and former accountant MAST Chowdhury (Mir Abu Sayed Taifuddin Chowdhury).

Dhaka Special Judge Court-4 Judge Shaikh Nazmul Alam handed down the order in presence of three of the convicts on the dock.

The court awarded seven years jail to Jinnah, Harun and Taifuddin and also fined Tk 25 lakh each, in default; they have to stay in jail one more year.

Besides, MA Rob jailed for five years and fined Tk 15 lakh.
