Dhaka University Teachers’ Association (DUTA) protested the ‘indecent behaviour’ of Fisheries and Livestock Additional Secretary Kazi Wasi Uddin towards Prof ABM Faruque after he along with DU researchers disclosed that antibiotics have been found in pasteurized milk of seven samples.

In a statement, DUTA President Prof Maksud Kamal and General Secretary Prof Shibli Rubayat Ul Islam said: “DU Teachers’ Association thinks that such indecent behavior towards an academic and researcher may discourage further research activities. Besides, country will lose if policymakers make such comments.”

Kazi Wasi Uddin threatened to take legal action against the Dhaka University researchers if they fail to show their study published in peer-reviewed journal.

Former Director of DU Biomedical Research Centre Prof ABM Faruque unveiled the findings in the last week of June after testing seven samples of widely-sold pasteurised milk of seven companies and three samples of raw milk.
