Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said BNP has nothing to do without lodging complaints against the government after failure in election and movement.
“Police did not obstruct any meeting or rally of BNP. They get permission to hold rally everywhere,” he said.Road Transport and Bridges Minister Quader made the statements while addressing a press conference at AL President Sheikh Hasina’s political office in the capital Dhanmondi area on Friday.
Rejecting BNP’s allegation that government always hinder the party’s organisational activities, Quader said, “It is nothing but a factious comment.”
Criticizing Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) chairman for his recent remark, the minister said, “Corruption is corruption and the government will consider it accordingly.”
Mentioning different initiatives taken by the government and the AL for the flood affected people, Quader said a delegation of the party went to Jamalpur and Gaibandha to distribute relief among the flood victims.
In replying to a question about future of Jatiya Party, Quader said the JP has secured victory in a number of parliamentary constituencies in the national election and emerged as a main opposition party in the parliament.
Those parties which take decisions in timely and fitting manner will survive in politics, the Awami League leader added.Asked what steps will be taken against those who violated party command in election, Quader said show-cause notices have been served and steps will be taken on the basis of their reply.
Among others, AL leaders --Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, Abdus Sobhan Golap, Afzal Husain, Abdus Sabur and Biplab Barua were present.
