Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Atiqul Islam on Thursday visited schools of the capital city and raised awareness about dengue disease among students, teachers and guardians.
As part of the ongoing campaign on dengue disease control and prevention, he visited Govt. Kalachandpur School & College and HURDCO International School in Baridhara area of the capital.During the visit, the mayor said vector of dengue is Aedes mosquitoes which breed on transparent stagnant water. “We have to be on alert so water is not stagnant anywhere over three days.
“Remove stagnant water from your neighborhoods and clean your surroundings. Supervisors of DNCC are working regularly.”
The mayor also distributed leaflets to raise awareness about dengue.
Among others, DSCC health officer Brig Gen Md Momimur Rahman Mamun, ward councillor Zakir Hossain Babul and Dr Zinnat Ali attended the campaign.
