Chinese co to invest $2mn in Mongla EPZ

BEPZA Member (Investment Promotion) Zillur Rahman and Dongguan Bluebox Industries Bangladesh Company Managing Director Li Xin exchange documents after signing an agreement at BEPZA Complex in Dhaka on Thursday.

Chinese company M/s. Dongguan Bluebox Industries Bangladesh Company Limited will invest US$ 2 million to establish a packaging manufacturing industry in Mongla Export Processing Zone.

Recently, BEPZA organised an investment promotional seminar in China and Hong Kong, said a press release.

In the seminar, this Chinese company has been attracted to invest in EPZ of Bangladesh by knowing about the investment-friendly environment of BEPZA.

This fully foreign owned company will produce annually 5 million pieces of jewelry box, watch box, gift box and packaging display. About 1140 Bangladeshi nationals will get employment opportunity in this factory.

An agreement to this effect signed between the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) and M/s. Dongguan Bluebox Industries Bangladesh Co. Ltd. at BEPZA Complex in Dhaka on Thursday.

Zillur Rahman, Member (Investment Promotion) of BEPZA and Li Xin, Managing Director of M/s. Dongguan Bluebox Industries Bangladesh Co. Ltd. signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.

Major General SM Salahuddin Islam, Executive Chairman, Mizanur Rahman, Member (Finance), Nazma Binte Alamgir, General Manager (Public Relations) and Md. Tanvir Hossain, General Manager (Investment Promotion) of BEPZA were present on the occasion.
