Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina donated 30 lakh taka for the treatment of former Swadhin Bangla Football Team footballer Lutfor Rahman on Monday.

Lutfor Rahman was paralysed after sustaining a brain stroke in December 2018. Due to an acute financial crisis, his treatment came to a halt but Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina came to the rescue and donated 5 lakh taka cash while handed over savings instruments worth 25 lakh taka to the wife of Lutfor Rahman.

Awami League Youth and Sports Secretary Harunur Rashid along with Youth and Sports Sub-committee member Mohammed Faisal Ahsan Ullah were present at the ceremony.

Former Hockey Coach Kawsar Ali posted a status in Facebook describing the deplorable condition of once famous and popular booter Lutfor Rahman and the fact that his treatment has come to a halt. The status grabbed the attention of Awami League Sports Sub-committee member Mohammed Faisal Ahsan Ullah who took the issue to Prime Minister.
