Obaidul Quader’s health condition satisfactory

Doctors expressed satisfaction with the physical condition of Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader after his post-operative check-up in Singapore.

A press release quoted BSMMU Director Prof Abu Naser Rizvi as saying that cardiologist Dr Philip Koh, head of the medical board formed for Quader’s treatment, expressed contentment at Mount Elizabeth Hospital.

He is scheduled to return home on July 17.

Quader’s wife Isratunnesa Quader, Bangladesh Ambassador to Singapore Mostafizur Rahman and Gazipur City Corporation Mayor Jahangir Alam were present at hospital. The minister left Dhaka for his checkup on Sunday.

Earlier on March 3, Quader was hospitalised to BSMMU following breathing problems. He was diagnosed with three blocks in his heart and flown to Singapore for treatment.

The minister underwent a bypass surgery on March 20 and he was moved to a cabin from the intensive care unit after his condition improved on March 26.

The AL general secretary returned home from Singapore on May 15 after a 71-day stay in Singapore.
