Abahani down BJMC

Dhaka Abahani beat Team BJMC by 2-1 goals in their Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football at Shaheed Bulu Stadium in Noakhali on Monday.

The match started slow, both the team were struggling to score a goal but finally in the 25th minute of the game Team BJMC midfielder Samson Illiasu showed his spectacular skills and scored a goal for his team giving BJMC a head start in the match. The first half of the game ended with BJMC in a 1-0 lead over Dhaka Abahani.

Abahani went on their counter-attack on the second-half and courtesy of their forward Jewel Rana who scored a sensational goal to restore parity to the scoreline on the 40th minute of the match giving Abahani room to breathe. Abahani midfielder Masih Saighani doubled their lead with yet another goal on the 60th minute of the game which ensured Abahani’s victory in the match.

Losing this match pushed BJMC towards to a sure relegation. As they are at the bottom of the league table with mere 8 points in their hands from 17 matches played and winning only 1.

Abahani still holds the second spot in the points table with 42 points just behind Bashundhara Kings who are at the top with 46 points. The difference of points between these teams is just 4 but Abahani have played 17 matches whereas Bashundhara Kings played a match less. Bashundhara Kings’s next BPL encounter against Rahmotgonj Muslim Friends Society can help Bashundhara Kings to increase the points-difference even more.
