The government is concerned over the fake recruitment syndicate that is making a huge sum particularly from the simple and easy-going people from the villages in the name of getting them government jobs.

One such syndicate named Carrier BD Limited allegedly fakes job website as well as signatures of top government officials.

Last Thursday, Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources requested Home Ministry as well as Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Sirajganj to nab the syndicate members.

Besides, the Power Division also called for necessary actions against the so-called hiring company — Carrier BD — for continuing fake recruitment using forged signature of Power Division deputy secretary Tahmina Yesmin and its senior secretary Dr Ahmad Kaikaus.

The power division last week nabbed two such people ‘recruited’ by the syndicate and handed them over to Shahbag police when they came to join the division, officials said. The victims are Md Mosiur Rahman, son of Nur Islam under Saidpur Upazila in Nilphamari district and Md Mojibur Rahman, son of Md Maqbul under Atrai upazila in Naogaon district.

According to the Power Division, it floated advertisement to fill 17 vacant posts in different categories under 13-20 grade on March 19, 2019.

Taking the advantage of job circulation, Carrier BD  allegedly published recruitment advertisement of different projects under the power division without the ministry’s approval. After his detention, Md Mosiur Rahman said he paid Tk50,000 to Carrier BD for getting the job at power division.

He said: “I got automatic SMS and I believed it was all ok.” Another victim Md Mojibur Rahman said he has a committed to pay the same amount after recruitment.

“Not only me, but also many people paid them for recruitment,” he said, quoting power division officials.

Talking over the issue, Power Division deputy secretary (Admin) Tahmina Yesmin told daily sun the division has already requested Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) to block the fake website opened in the name of the government recruitment.

“I am really surprised to find that my signature has been forged, and the syndicate also tried to duplicate the signature of senior power secretary,” Tahmina said.

Shahbag police station is already investigating the matter against Carrier BD Ltd chairmen DJ Shakil and Rabbi Sakil, manager Syful and its recruit Md Mosiur Rahman and Md Mojibur Rahman Santa.

Talking over phone, DJ Shakil claimed that he was not involved in the recruitment process.  “I am just running a recruitment company,” he told daily sun on Monday.
