BUENOS AIRES: Argentina made its first export of chilled beef to China, days after a new health protocol entered into force which allows this product to enter China.

The Argentine Ministry of Agribusiness reported on Monday that the export was carried out on Saturday and consisted of chilled, vacuum packed rib eye cuts, which are considered to be high value cut within the Argentine industry, reports Xinhua.

"This represents a great opportunity for the Argentine industry and for trade between both countries," said Minister of Agribusiness Luis Miguel Etchevehere.
