CHATTOGRAM: Police detained a fraud on charge of giving threat by identifying himself as a member of Directorate of National Security Intelligence (NSI) from Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) on Monday.

The arrestee was identified as Abdul Mannan, 22, son of Rabiul Alam of village Durgapur under Chhagalnaiya upazila in Feni district.

Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Alauddin Talukder of the CMCH Police Outpost said Mannan came to the hospital to visit a patient.

He locked in an altercation with a cop at the Ward No.28 at that time.

At one stage, Mannan identified himself as member of the NSI and threatened the cop, said Alauddin.

Later, other cops quizzed Mannan who then admitted to give false identity.

He was sent to Panchlaish police station for legal action against him, said the ASI.
