Bangladesh all-rounder Mosaddek Hossain said on Monday that he was happy to have contributed to Tigers’ total as he played a brilliant cameo against Afghanistan at Southampton.

Mosaddek’s 24-ball knock helped Bangladesh get past 250 which appeared to be quite a difficult task at one stage when Afghan spinners took the reign of the game with vicious turn in the surface which was quite slow compared with the other venues of the competition.

Mushfiqur partnered with explosive all-rounder Mosaddek who gave Tigers the much needed late impetus. Mosaddek played a brilliant cameo worth 35 runs off 24 balls at the latter part of the innings to propel Bangladesh to a respectable total.

Mosaddek, who missed the last game due to shoulder injury, did not looked to be troubled by the Afghan spinners or pacers as he  managed to play the big shots literally on his will at the big ground and helped Tiger to post a commendable total on the board.

“I was just trying to hit every ball and fortunately it paid off. Not an easy track to start on, it’s a bit slow early on and not easy to play shots,” Mosaddek told during the innings break.

“I think these are not ideal conditions for batsmen. So I think our batsmen did really well and 262 runs is a really challenging score. They (Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim) batted really well and adjusted to the pitch beautifully,” told Mosaddek

Mosssadek- Mushfiqur duo added 44 crucial runs to the total at the sixth wicket partnership.

Bangladesh batsman nearly replicated their ICC World Cup 2015 performance as they scored 267 runs during that encounter.
