Cumilla: Cumilla Railway Station, one of the most important and busiest stations in the country, is operating its activities through numerous hazards causing tremendous sufferings to commuters and traders, reports UNB.

The situation is deteriorating day by day.

The station started its journey in the year of 1895. Since then, thousands of people commute using this station as it is situated in the middle point of two major cities—Dhaka and Chattogram.

Every day, a total of 35 trains, bound for various districts, including Dhaka, Chattogram, Sylhet, Mymensingh, Brahmanbaria and Chandpur, pass through the station.

Visiting the place, passengers were found with various complaints of irregularities at the station.

It has three restrooms, including one for VIP passengers. But most of the time, these remain closed due to manpower crisis.

Besides, unclean toilets, lack of drinking water, crisis of passenger shade and accommodation are consistently causing immense sufferings to the station users.

Asked about these problems, Stationmaster Shafiqur Rahman said the passengers are being deprived of proper services due to manpower crisis at the station. The government has taken various projects to solve the problems.

“These problems will be solved soon,” he said.
