Former MP Rana’s bail order stayed

The Appellate Division on Thursday stayed till July 1 the permanent bail granted by the High Court to former Awami League MP from Tangail-3 (Ghatail) Amanur Rahman Khan Rana in a case filed over killing of two Jubo League leaders, reports UNB.

Chamber judge Justice Md Nuruzzaman passed the order after hearing on a petition and sent it to the full bench of the Appellate Division for further hearing.

Barrister Monsurul Haque Chowdhury stood for the petitioner while Attorney General Mahbubey Alam and Deputy Attorney General Dr Md Bashir Ullah represented the state. The High Court on Wednesday granted permanent bail to Rana in the case.

Baghil union Jubo League leaders Mohammad Shamim and Mohammad Mamun went missing on July 16, 2012 in the district town.
