Teacher sued for amassing illegal wealth

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Thursday sued suspended principal of AK High School Md Selim Bhuiyan on charges of concealing information of wealth and amassing illegal wealth.

ACC Assistant Director Abdul Wadud filed the case with Ramna Model police station accusing  a former principal of AK High School of Dhonia area in the capital Salim Bhuiyan under the sections 26 (2) and 27 (1) of the Anti-Corruption Act-2004.

On July 4, 2017, Salim Bhuyain submitted his wealth statement report to the ACC following summon of the anti-graft body.  

After scrutinizing his submitted wealth statement, ACC investigators found that Selim Bhuiyan also a pro-BNP teacher leader concealed information of his wealth worth Tk 1.09 crore while he also amassed Tk 1.31 crore from unknown sources of income.
