Two schoolgirls, a madrasa girl ‘raped’ in Cumilla

CUMILLA: Two schoolgirls and a madrasa girl were reportedly raped separately in Homna, Laksam and Debidwar upazilas here on Monday, reports UNB.

In Laksam, a seventh grader girl was reportedly raped by a hawker at a house in Laksam Railway Station on Tuesday. The girl came to visit her friend by train when the hawker Mosleh Uddin Babu beat her friend and took her at a house where he violated her, said Nazim Uddin, officer-in-charge of Laksam Railway Police Station.

Police arrested Mosleh Uddin, 28, son of Abul Hossain of Paikpara in the upazila.

In Debidwar, police arrested a CNG driver for raping an eleven-year-old madrasa girl at Mohammadpur village in Debidwar upazila on Tuesday.

The arrestee was identified as Md Sohel, 24, son of Shafiqul Islam of the village. Victim’s mother said Sohel raped her minor girl after Eid-ul-Fitr several times and threatened not to disclose the matter to anyone.
