A five-member delegation of International Center for Pure and Applied Mathematics (CIMPA) called on Vice Chancellor of Dhaka University (DU) Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman at the latter’s office of the university on Thursday.
Professor Dr Renaud Leplaideur led the delegation.Others member of the delegation are Professor Dr Lidia Fernandez Rodriguez, Professor Nicolas Bedaride, Professor Isabel Rios and Professor Sylvain Mousset.
Among others, Chairman of the Department of Mathematics of DU Professor Dr Amal Krishna Halder, Professor Dr Md Shahidul Islam and Professor Dr Chandra Nath Podder of the same department were present in that time.
During the meeting, they discussed the possibilities of strengthening the ongoing joint collaborative academic and research programmes on mathematics between the Dhaka University and CIMPA.
Founded in 1978 in France, CIMPA is a combined association of France, Switzerland, Spain and Norway to develop and conduct research on mathematics in developing countries.
The CIMPA delegation is now on a 12-day long visit to Bangladesh joining an international workshop titled ‘Research School on Dynamical Systems and its Applications to Biology at AF Mujibur Rahman Ganit Bhaban of Dhaka University (DU).
