Former finance minister AMA Muhith said implementation of the proposed budget will be ‘so tough’ as the people do not want to pay taxes.
“It is so tough to implement the proposed budget as the people are reluctant to pay taxes. Amongst South Asian countries, we are in the bottom in terms of revenue collection,” he said.Muhith, also advisory council member of Awami League, said this after coming out from the budget session in the parliament on Thursday.
The Finance Minister Mustafa Kamal started presenting the national budget in the House at around 3:07pm but he was having problem in placing the budget due to his illness.
Later, the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina placed the budget in favour of the Finance Minister.
