Conservation of forest stressed

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Environment and Forests Ministry on Wednesday recommended taking necessary steps for implementing laws related to conservation of forests and passing the Clean Air Act, 2019 in Jatiya Sangsad, reports BSS.

The committee made the recommendation at its 5th meeting at the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban, said an official release.

The meeting discussed about the implementation of ‘Clean Air and Sustainable Environment’ (CASE) project and suggested taking necessary steps in passing the Clean Air Act, 2019 in the parliament within October this year.

Also, overall activities and project implementation of ‘Bangladesh Forest Industries Development Corporation’ (BFIDC) and problems regarding the Amin Bazar dumping station were discussed in the meeting.

The committee placed a recommendation for implementing the forest conservation act as soon as possible to save the environment.
