Bangladeshi killed in BSF firing on Bholahat frontier

C’NAWABGANJ: A Bangla-deshi citizen was shot dead by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) on Gilabari frontier in Bholahat upazila of Chapainawabganj district on Friday, reports BSS.

The deceased was identified as Zohurul Islam, 22, son of Ena Mia of Futanibazar village under Bholahat upazila.

Commanding Officer (CO) of 59 battalion of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Lt. Col. SM Salah Uddin said Zohurul along with his accomplices was trying to go to India by cutting frontier barbed wire in the early hours on Tuesday. Zohurul died on the spot while his accomplices fled away. BSF men took away the body of Zohurul.

Later a flag meeting was held between BGB and BSF. BGB protested the killing in the flag meeting.
