Pabna: Police recovered the bodies of a suspected drug trader and a ‘drug addict’ youth from separate places in Ishwardi upazila on Saturday morning, reports UNB.

Bahauddin Faruki, officer-in-charge of Ishwardi Police Station, said locals spotted the bullet-hit body of Altaf Mandal, 55, son of late Abed Ali Mandal, accused in 12 drug cases, in an under construction building at Chara Bottola Gokulnagar Mahalla in the morning and informed police. Later, police recovered the body.

Police said he might have been killed by rival group over drug related dispute.

Meanwhile, police recovered the body of Shakib Hossain, 20, son of Alamgir Hossain, from Chaknaricha Bagbaria village in the morning.

The OC said Shakib, who used to live at his grandfather’s (maternal) house with his mother, remained missing since Friday evening.

Locals spotted his body near a pond in the morning and informed police.

Later, police recovered the body.

He might have been strangulated to death, said the OC adding that Shakib was drug addict.
