Two restaurants fined Tk 90,000 in port city

CHATTOGRAM: A mobile court of district administration in a drive fined two restaurants Tk 90,000 on different charges in the city on Thursday.

The mobile court led by Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate Mahfuza Jerin awarded the financial punishment to the restaurants during the drive in the city’s Agrabad area.

The restaurants are ‘New Orient Restaurant’ and ‘Gharana Restaurant’.

Of them, the Orient Restaurant was fined Tk 50,000 for preserving date-expired foods, preparing foods in unhygienic environment and lacking trade license, sources said.

On the other hand, the court fined the ‘Gharana Restaurant’ Tk 40,000 for using banned ‘Baghabari Ghee,’ said the sources.
