The High Court (HC) on Wednesday expressed discontent as Green Line Paribahan did not comply with its order to pay Tk 45 lakh in compensation to Russel Sarker, who lost his left leg after getting crushed by one of its buses in the capital, reports BSS.

The High Court on May 15 ordered Green Line Paribahan to pay the money to Russel by May 22, 2019.

Earlier, Green Line Paribahan on April 10 paid Tk 5 lakh to Russel and was allowed one month time more to pay the remaining amount.

The High Court division bench comprising Justice FRM Nazmul Ahasan and Justice KM Kamrul Kader on May 15 came up with that order as the transport company authorities failed to comply with the court’s previous order.

But like the earlier occasions, Green Line Paribahan did not comply with the court’s order and did not even make any contact with its own lawyer in this regard.

“We don’t have any anger, affection or aversion towards anyone. But we did not like the behavior of Green Line. We don’t want to be strict. Please don’t force us to get tough. There is no reason to think our malleability as our weakness,” the court said on Wednesday.

The court, after that, fixed June 25 for passing further order in this regard. Earlier on April 4, the High Court had extended time till April 10 for Green Line Paribahan to give Tk 50 lakh to Russel Sarker or else not to sell any ticket from April 11.
