Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun on Monday asked the Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) to show zero tolerance policy for maintaining quality of products.
“BSTI will have to be strict to prevent any irregularities related to product quality and measurement.The recent activities of BSTI is laudable to protect the quality of products,” he said while speaking at a discussion on “International System of Unites-Fundamentally better” marking the ‘World Metrology Day-2019’ at BSTI auditorium in the city, said a press release, reports BSS.
State Minister for Industries Kamal Ahmed Mojumder was present as the special guest while Industries Secretary M Abdul Halim was in the chair.
Kamal Mojumder underscored the need for opening BSTI office in the district level for ensuring the quality of products across the country. Among others, Director General of BSTI M Muazzem Hossain and BSTI Director (Metrology) M Anwar Hossen Mollah were present.
