SIRAJGANJ: Health Engineering Department (HED) implements massive development works in Sirajganj district during last fiscal year.
The government is implementing various development works in all districts across the country to reach health services for people doorsteps. Many development works are also being implemented with Tk 135 crore in Sirajganj district.Construction of Mother and Child Welfare Center (Ma-O-Shishu Kalyan Kendra), Health Complex, Medical Assistant Training School, Sheikh Hasina Nursing College and Shaheed-M-Munshur Ali Institute of Health Technology (IHT) are going on speedily and other development works are also being implemented through under the 11 projects for the last five years.
The construction works are being supervised and monitored by Health Engineering Department (HED) office in Sirajganj. The office sources said that they are constructing -10 beds Mother and Child Welfare Center (Ma-O-Shishu Kalyan Kendra) in six upazila of Sirajganj district.
HED also said that they are constructing a Health Complex of 100 beds from 50 beds in Kazipur upazila with about Taka 2,159 lakh. For construction of Medical Assistant Training School in Maizbari union under Kazipur upazila Taka 3,059 lakh would be spent. Construction of Sheikh Hasina Nursing College in Ratankandi under of Sadar upazila would cost about Taka 3,059 lakh and construction of upward expansion works of Shaheed-M-Munshur Ali Institute of Health Technology (IHT) in Gandhail village under Kazipur upazila would cost about Taka 596 lakh.
Md Abdul Malek, Assistant Engineer of Health Engineering Department (HED) in Sirajganj said that the Mother and Child Welfare Center (Ma-O-Shishu Kalyan Kendra) has already been completed in Shoktipur union under Shazadpur upazila and has been handed over to the authorities of family planning department. He also said that many development works are going on with rapid pace by the direction of executive engineer of Health Engineering Department (HED) in Sirajganj and the standard of work is good. He further said that massive development works are being implemented in the health sector during the present government.
