Malaysian dy state minister wraps up visit

A Malaysian delegation wrapped up their four-day visit to Bangladesh on Saturday.

Senator Liew Chin Tong Deputy Minister of Defence led the delegation.

During the visit, the delegation visited Rohingya camps and Field Hospital established by Malaysia in Cox’s Bazar on Thursday.

The team members spoke to Rohingya men and women who had fled from Myanmar’s Rak-hine state facing brutal tortures since August 2017, local administration and different NGOs.

In that time, the community leaders requested the minister to extend support from ASEAN nations to settle the issue.

The minister assured them of giving continued support from Malaysia to solve the issue.

The delegation called on Security Adviser to Prime Minister of Bangladesh and visited National Defence College, Mirpur Cantonment and UNHCR office in Dhaka.

On May 14, the delegation arrived in Bangladesh on an invitation of Major General (Retd) Tarique Ahmed Siddique Security Adviser to the Prime Minister of Bangladesh.
