Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and his team mates registered a scintillating five-wicket victory over West Indies in the final match of the Tri-nation Series tournament in Dublin on Friday. With the win, the team has broken the jinx for the international trophy after six heartbreaks, each time Tigers reached the final. In fact, the hunger for a win in the final match has long been exerting pressure on the team which is finally over. The team members now certainly have the reasons to hold high their heads and remain positive throughout the ICC World Cup tournament.

The match was a perfect show of the combination of individual performances in all three departments – bowling, batting and fielding which made up the collective approach for the win. Now Bangladesh Team is psychologically stronger than ever before to face the challenges of the upcoming mega cricket event. On this auspicious moment of the Bangladesh Cricket, the President and the Prime Minister congratulated Tigers on winning the series. We congratulate the team!

In the chasing of the revised target of 210 in 24 overs as per the Duckworth Lewis method in the final,  the home team geared them up at the beginning with the blistering start by Soumya Sarkar who scored 66-run from 41 balls. And the last minute replacement of Shakib, Mosaddek Hossain smashed a promising unbeaten 54 from 24 balls to reach the target with seven balls to spare.

Encouraging performance during the whole of the tournament of many members of the team is much-needed ahead of the England journey. The right-hander Liton Das went on to strike 76 runs from 67 balls against Ireland to encourage the selectors to pick him as an alternative for the opening pair. Soumya Sarkar also has proved his capability with the show of his confident shot-making ability in the opening slot with Tamim. Bowlers Mohammad Saifuddin, Mustafizur Rahman and Abu Jayed proved to be in fine rhythm.

Mehedi Hasan Miraz with his economy rate of 4.28 in the middle over stepped up to take the responsibility alongside Shakib in the spin department.

More importantly, the Bangladesh squad clicked throughout the tournament because of the collective team spirit which is very crucial for winning a game. We hope this spirit will guide Bangladesh towards their target in the World Cup mission.
