BNP hosts iftar for diplomats

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) hosted an iftar party in honour of foreign diplomats working in Bangladesh on Tuesday.

The party arranged the event at a city hotel where ambassadors, high commissioners, mission chiefs, charge d’ affaires and other envoys from around 27 countries were present.

BNP senior leaders — including secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain and Moudud Ahmed — received the guests and exchanged pleasantries with them.

US ambassador, Chinese Ambassador, Indian High Commissioner, Canadian High Commissioner, French ambassador, Japanese ambassador and Australian High Commissioner were present.

Besides, envoys from the UK, Saudi Arabia, Palestine, Norway, Pakistan, Denmark, Sweden, Vietnam, Afghanistan, the UAE, Iran, the EU and some other countries and international organizations attended the party.

Apart from Fakhrul, BNP senior leaders — Jamiruddin Sircar, Mirza Abbas, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan, Nazrul Islam Khan, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, Abdullah Al Noman, Abdul Awal Mintoo, Khandaker Mahbub Hossain, Selima Rahman and Reaz Rahman were present, among others.
