20-party alliance leaders hold meeting

After the swearing-in by five BNP MPs-elect recently, the top leaders of 20-party coalition held a meeting at BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s Gulshan office in the capital Monday afternoon.

“The meeting decided to wage a movement after Eid-ul-Fitr to ensure release of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia from jail. A human chain may be formed in the capital during Ramadan,” a top leader of the 20-party alliance told daily sun.

He said the coalition has already discussed the issue of quitting the alliance by Andaleeve Rahman Partha, chairman of Bangladesh Jatiya Party (BJP), and they think that he has left the alliance for his own interest.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, standing committee members — Nazrul Islam Khan and Amir Khashru Mahmud Chowdhury — were present in the meeting.
