10cr shrimp fry seized in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM: Members of Bangladesh Coast Guard (CG-East Zone) recovered a huge quantity of shrimp fry from the city’s Lalkhan Bazar area on Thursday.  

A CG press release signed by Lieutenant Shah Zia Rahman on Friday said acting on a tip-off, a team of the CG conducted a drive and recovered a total of 124 drums of shrimp fry from Akteruzzaman Flyover in Lalkhan Bazar area at around 5:30pm. 

 The CG-men also seized four mini trucks used for carrying the shrimp fry amounting to around 10 crore pieces during the drive, said the release.

Later, the fries were released in the river Karnaphuli following directives from the concerned authorities, it said adding that none could be arrested in this connection.
