Education system depending on bricked classrooms, often fails to equip the students with necessary skills for their professional life. Again, this system has a problem of scalability where a limited number of people get the chance of accessing quality education. Internet is a medium that can solve this problem. They say you can learn anything from the Internet. That’s why E-learning is becoming popular in Bangladesh as in the whole world. Quantity of educational material is abundant but there are problems, especially in Bangladesh. No quality control, absence of personalised support, language barrier, no option of collaboration and lack of learning continuity are some of the many issues.
Like many others, these problems were felt by two BUET students: Yanur Islam Piash and Galib Hassan Khan. Being eager to solve the problems themselves, they have co-founded an E-learning platform: Bohubrihi. The name speaks itself, Bohubrihi hosts multidimensional online courses. It is an online marketplace where anyone can teach and anyone can learn. The quality of content is scrutinized so that everyone can get the best quality education available.
The courses have assignments and quizzes, not only videos. To keep learners engaged and motivated. All learners who finish any course get a certificate. There is also an educational blog which is free and people can learn many things from its rich articles.
Also, for people who want to teach others what they know, Bohubrihi facilitates the platform for them. Anyone can teach anything. Instructors must do the two things, show their demos so that Bohubrihi can check the quality and agree to provide continuous Q&A support to the students. Instructors get half of the course revenue as their payment each month. They do not need to worry about the payment system or hosting system. Bohubrihi has an active paid affiliate programme and other marketing policy to make sure that online courses reach the right people.
With the vision of a platform to make people professionally skilled and keep them in demand through E-learning, Bohubrihi started in July 2018. The team currently consists of 13 students from BUET and Dhaka University. As per the co-founders, the ultimate goal of Bohubrihi is to create an entire ecosystem of trained high-skilled people who will not only be able to get jobs but also create jobs. Currently, Bohubrihi is targeting to raise Series A funds to make the platform grow bigger.
