Indonesia trade fair kicks off at ICCB

A three-day long Indonesian trade fair began on Thursday with an aim to encourage entrepreneurs to expand business in Bangladesh.

The embassy of the republic of Indonesia in Dhaka organised the trade fair at International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in the city on Thursday.

The fair will remain open from 11:00am to 8:00 pm from April 25 to 27 at the ICCB.

While speaking Indonesian Ambassador in Dhaka Rina Prihtyasmiarsi Soemarno said, “The fair will encourage Indonesian entrepreneurs and companies to expand their business in Bangladesh.”

More than 40 exhibitors are displaying Indonesian consumer and industrial goods like batik, jewelry, handicrafts, food and beverages, and tourism destinations in the fair.

Rina Prihtyasmiarsi said that about 75 business people from Indonesia are visiting the fair and some of them are from Garuda Maintenance Facility, PT INKA, and the state-run company PT Pertamina, and Indonesia Railway Consortium.

Commerce Secretary Md Mofizul Islam was present at the fair as the chief guest. He said Indonesia and Bangladesh is very good business partner.

“It would be wise to do something for the both countries so that the trade could be minimized,” he said. The economy of Bangladesh is growing rapidly amid expansion of export business across the globe, he added.

While speaking Secretary General, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia, Mayerfas said that bilateral trade relation between Bangladesh and Indonesia has been growing rapidly.
