The government will build disaster-resilient houses for disaster-affected people utilizing the special fund allocated by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, said Dr Enamur Rahman, state minister for Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief.

“In the first phase, we will build 11,406 houses in June 2019 and within the next 5 years we target to build 125,000 houses in total,” he said adding that they have discussed with various stakeholders and have decided to provide 400 square feet size houses which will include toilet and kitchen.

The state minister said this while speaking as a special guest on Wednesday in the capital on the second day of a two-day national seminar on building collaboration for housing impact.
