BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Monday called upon all to get united and wage movement to ensure release of the party chairperson Khaleda Zia from jail.

“All of us have to unite. Students wage every movement of the country. Now time has come again to do movement to free mother of democracy (Khaleda Zia) and bring back Tarique Rahman,” he said.

The BNP secretary general came up with the statement at a discussion arranged by ‘Jaganath University Chhatra Forum’ at the National Press Club in the capital.

“Freedom of expression of the country’s people has been snatched away while there is no freedom of judiciary in the country. The administration is being used for personal purpose,” he added.

Fakhrul further said the people who speak for democracy are being imprisoned and politicians are also being kept away from politics during the current regime.

He alleged that conspiracy is being hatched to make the country without democracy.
