Task forces get 15 more days for transports discipline

The Traffic Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Monday has extended the time of special task forces formed to bring discipline in the public transport system in the capital.

The Traffic Department has formed four separate task forces for Traffic East Division, West Division, North Division and South Division.

The task forces started their operation in March 24. They were supposed to continue till April 23.

As success has been observed in the operation, the time has been extended to get more satisfactory result in the drives. DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media) Masudur Rahman said: “Monthly activities of the special task forces are in progress. This program has been extended for another 15 days. The operation will continue till May 10.”

“Special task forces have been working to improve the traffic system of Dhaka city. Strict enforcement of traffic law, public awareness and traffic discipline are the major issues to be dealt by the forces,” he also said.
