The Appellate Division of Supreme Court (SC) on Thursday rejected a review appeal lodged by MNH Bulu claiming the ownership of private television channel ‘Boishakhi TV’.

A seven-member bench led by Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain gave the order in the morning.

With the rejection of the appeal, the ownership of the television now remains with the incumbent board of directors, said Barrister Mainul Islam, a defence lawyer.

In 2008, Bulu, the then owner, handed over his 64 percent share of the television to Destiny-2000 Ltd.

But later on he filed two cases with High Court (HC) under The Companies Act. After the hearing, the HC passed the order in favour of Bulu.

Afterwards, the present authority of the channel lodged an appeal challenging the HC verdict.

On February 15 in 2017, the Appellate Division ruled in favour of the present authority.

But Bulu filed a review petition challenging the verdict. After hearing the petition, the seven-member bench rejected it.

Besides Barrister Mainul Islam, Barrister Azmalul Hossain Quisy represented the running board of directors of the TV.
