Power generation from solar-powered panels is expanding quickly in the country mainly due to government’s environment friendly clean energy policy, said Planning Minister MA Mannan on Thursday.
“Prime Minister’s long term plan helps the country to reach a new height with rapid increase of electricity generation from renewable energy,” said the minister while addressing as a chief guest at a conference on ‘Role of renewable energy for building our village: Our city’.Bangladesh Solar and Renewable Energy Association organised the conference at a local Hotel. Prime Minister’s Private Industry and Investment Advisor Salman F Rahman attended the conference as a special guest which was addressed among others by SREDA acting chairman Siddique Jobair, Iqbal Habib and Dipal C Barua spoke.
Addressing the conference the planning minister the youth Youths urged to come up with forward-looking ideas, contribute towards nation building and help expansion of the renewable energy and its research.
Prime Minister’s Private Industry and Investment Advisor Salman F Rahman said the government is working relentlessly to reach the civic facilities even in rural areas. He praised the young generation’s initiative to help the government for adopting technology in renewable sector.
Terming renewable energy cost effective and environmental friendly, SREDA acting chairman Siddique Jobair said the government is working for expansion of renewable carefully.
Around 200 experts, businessmen and policymakers attended the conference.
